This tenant improvement renovation for a California High Tech company includes two floors of office space and a ground floor mixed-use space with a restaurant, coffee bar, bowling alley, art gallery, laundromat, and dance studio. Certified LEED Silver, the office renovation proved to be a challenge to daylight, since the deep floor plate made it difficult for daylight to reach the center of the floor. While open office areas lined the perimeter windows, the darkness of the inner core was celebrated with a “forest” theme offering more intimate spaces of rich tones, punctuated by “clearings” such as a sunbeam pool table and bright-colored collaboration spaces.
